Turn to the Light

In early spring
living things turn into the light.

Stems, branches, and vines
reach for the sun’s rays.
Blooms and leaves too,
bend in that direction.

Felines search out sills
most drenched with brilliance.

Turtles sun along the banks of brightly lit shores.

We humans
lift our faces for that longed for warmth.

And the Christian heart...
turns toward the brilliance of the risen Lord on Easter Sunday.

Fervent for Holy hope.
Rejoicing in the eternal gift.

Tomorrow's Promise

I venture forth into my days
carrying snippets of scriptural readings, conversations,
teachings, and musings tucked under my heart.

Internal thoughts pondered haphazardly as I move through my days
pausing intermittently as some slight bit of my fluid surroundings catches...
snags on some point of those numerous musings.

Here, as tuned lyrics overlay a phrase I read,
or there
as a face streams against my passing current portraying human expression of inspired scripture,
or another
from the natural world branching out to display a figurative expression of a sacred story.

If last season’s life were our Biblical inheritance,
If the branch were His chosen people,
If the suspended vessels were His divine life,
If the dispersed seeds were His spirit,
If nature reflects His promise...

Illuminated understanding rises,
not grandly, but deeply.
Satisfying as only increased clarity or
compelling evidence
can illuminate.

Unspoken whispers of prayer envisioned as being released outward.

"Thank you O my father,
for giving us your Son,
And leaving your Spirit
till the work on earth is done."
“There Is a Redeemer”

Rejoice in the Light!

So the women hurried away from the tomb,
afraid yet filled with JOY,
and ran to tell the disciples.
Suddenly Jesus met them,
"Greetings," he said.
They came to him,
clasped his feet and
worshiped him.

Matthew 28: 8-9 NIV

Easter blessings and joy to you who visit here today!

Thorns and Tears

Settling small.
Circling inward,
with hushed reverence during these hours between the cross and the rising.
Considering the grief stricken love and strength shared by women of faith as they supported each other at the foot of the Lord’s cross,
as they comforted each other beside His grave.
Considering the darkness within the tomb, the great relief of quiet, the covered form, and the heart that was still.
Yet, soon, behind that stone,
 within that darkness,
arrived the sacred presence and the resurrecting power of our Almighty God. Within that darkness God reached out to restore our Lord to a new, transformed life.
While the night remained dark, Angels kept vigil, waiting for the women, prepared to announce God’s Risen Son.
Faith believes in unseen miracles even in the darkness of tears and thorns.

Faithfully awaiting the dawn Easter,
Lisa

Stand Up! Sing His Holy Name!

Our Pastor stepped to the pulpit to declare, "He is Risen!" and we rose to sing our joy as Easter people.
My heart burst with it's own silent internal refrain,

"Stand up,

Stand up,

Sing!

Sing his holy name!"

Jubilant choir voices rang with a royal decree announcing the King of Kings. Our sanctuary, filled with hundreds of voices, joined the choir and song reverberated from loft to alter, up through the balconies, with the music of His people's praise. My heart swelled with the Holy Spirit's presence in this place and continued it's silent worshipful refrain,

"Stand up,

Stand up,

Sing! Sing his holy name!"

Miraculous Signs Revealed

His miraculous signs ...revealed his glory
and his disciples put their faith in him.
John 2:11

Miraculous signs [sometimes] and day to day blessings [often] .... they present themselves with increasing abundance with intention focused on the seeing of them. The anniversary of a full  year marking in a journal these daily blessings and sometimes-miracles arrived and I am not done with the looking for them. I am not done anticipating them. I am not done noting what God has wrought this day that is working for good. I am not done believing there is more joy coming from his hands. I am not done building faith based on the Holy Trinity's presence in my life. I am not done being  certain that
he is not done with me.
Prayerfully noting with thanksgiving:
954 ~ tender stories shared among faith filled women in Beth Moore Bible Study
955 ~ rain , thunder, wind; moving winter out for spring's reign
957 ~ machines and tools and those blessed with the gift of creating them
961 ~ kind professional affirmation
962 ~ public parks, green spaces, boulevard medians, nature preserves, arboretums, gardens; all displaying spring's ethereal green
963 ~ momentary lull in tasks, hours to regenerate

Take Heart! He has overcome the world!

Walking in the spring of upstate New York, along a fence line my eye following it’s undulating rise and fall . This cross section caught my eye. It’s rough hewn, hole pierced post wrapped with cold steel wire.  Austerity and beauty wrapped in one meeting of limbs. A concentric hole at the outer edge, revealing a scence at a distance beond. So much here symbolically suggested the journey and the sorrowful events of our Lord’s Easter story.

Joining with all those sharing faith inspired photos gathered over here:
